"Kylie for most of her career has released upbeat pop tunes that one can dance to, but 'Chocolate' is one of the few times when she decided to do something different. There is nothing wrong with her releasing more dance tunes, but it is a rarity when Minogue releases a single outside of the dance genre. 'Chocolate' is a good mid-tempo R&B tune with a heavy bass and beats, but the hook in the song is not instant. The song follows within the rest of her album "Body Language" where one would have to listen to it more than once to realize the beauty and simplicity of it. Minogue rerecorded the vocals for the track probably to make her vocals more prominent in the song, but I favor the album version better since the multi-layered vocals are almost at a sexy whisper.



The next track 'City Games' is okay but not an Minogue classic and the remixes for 'Chocolate' follows within the mid-tempo as the original, but it would of been better it EMI actually released at least one upbeat dance version of the song."

"I first heard this song on MTV one night and saw the video. Man, I thought this can't be Kylie. This was like the classiest video that I've seen from Kylie. To be honest, though I have been her fan since 89 (during her I SHOULD BE SO LUCKY days) I never really quite like most of the videos. To me, they looked kinda cheesy and very tacky, especially from the videos featuring songs from her first two albums.



But this CHOCOLATE is superbly made in terms of both the song as well as video. I thought the song sounded kinda "avant-garde"-like. It was very sensual and sexy and oh-boy, do I crave for chocolate! The video on the other hand was pretty c lassy. I've seen the footage from the making of this video. The director and those involved were pretty innovative and extremely creative. Perhaps, they'd added that certain classic French touch. Anyway, call me weird but each time I grab a piece of "sin" (chocolate, ie), I found myself playing Kylie's Chocolate video just to savor its richness. GO FIGURE!

"I have not really been a Kylie fan until she came on the scene with "Fever". I purchased that album not knowing what it was going to sound like, on the recommendations of a Virgin Records employee's recommendation. Boy, did I LOVE it! So, when Kylie brought out "Body Language", I was absolutely smitten, and purchased the import version before the U.S. version arrived. Althought "BL" is a totally different flavor then "Fever", I absolutely LOVE it! I never thought "Chocolate" would make the status quo as a single; however, after the announcement on her U.S. website stated it was going to be released as a single, I took the time to listen to it, and it grew on me. The video is absolutely stunning! I rated the single as a "4" only because I felt the remixes could have been a notch up. They are a little too slow for my tastes, but make this already great single more grand..."City Games" is also a catchy tune with a great, funky beat, although the title is quite silly, but, hey, Kylie is a great singer and performer, so I will let a little silliness slip by. Don't believe you will be disappointed with this single. If it does well, which I am hoping it will, perhaps she will release "Obsession" as her fourth and final single from "BL". Another catchy tune! Go, Kylie!"
