"I ordered this when I was on an Istvan Kertesz quest, searching for anything I could find...you see, I discovered this guy after hearing his Brahms symphonies, they are like no other and you should get them if you can find them. It was difficult to find him doing any Beethoven, until this 3 disc set came up...I quickly ordered it, I really wasnt expecting much, as I paid $1.98 for the set new! I was blown away by the unique quality of this music! There was definite magic happening, Kertesz is an incredible talent and these Beethoven pieces are a wonderful find ,if you want to hear Beethoven played like you have never heard before you must have these recordings, not all are by Istvan, but a lot of it is, the rest are by guys I am not familiar with, I actually only listened to the Kertesz discs (about half of the 3 are his) take my advice on this, if you do not order these right now you are risking missing out on some really remarkable stuff!...and the sound quality is excellant too. Go now and get the magic."

"I primarily ordered this set because it has the late conductor Istvan Kertesz leading three Beethoven Overtures and two Beethoven Symphonies (#2 and #4) with the Bamberg Symphony. Kertesz's fabulous recording legacy on Decca (capped by his legendary Dvorak symphony cycle with the LSO) is missing Beethoven and this issue helps fill the gap with some very energetic, solid performances. The other Beethoven items included here are also given very spirited performances. It's a set I'll continue to enjoy."
