"Another vivaldi recording I have been hunting for. This one I got from another dealer (amazon). It was quite pricey but worth every penny. I believe that this is the only recording with this artist. Paul Makanowitzky. He's beyond belief"

"I studied with Mr Makanowitzky in my youth. His performance is very noble and even with all the baroque violin performances of today it still holds its place. Wonderfull tone and deep understanding of the spirit of the music. It is shame that more of Makanowitzky's many recordings are no longer available. Buy this recording and also one of the baroque violin recordings.Heartfelt performance from the violinist who also did horseback riding and fencing."

""La Cetra" is a group of extremely engaging Vivaldi violin concertos. If you're familiar with these works then you don't need me to convince you of the utter joy that they bring; the only thing I can add is that conductor Vladimir Golschmann and violinist Paul Malanowitzky give particularly sympathetic performances. If you haven't heard these works, then you're in for a real treat if you pick up this collection. I find "La Cetra" to be better than Vivaldi's more popular "Four Seasons"; maybe you will as well. And if you're new to classical music you should find this a pleasant introduction to the wonderful world of classical music. Why? The pieces are short, invigorating, and full of delightful melodies. Start your mornings off with one or two of these little gems; you'll find coffee a distant second."
