"La Otracina might quite simply be one of the most amazing musical units on the planet at this time. Three musical psychonauts dedicated to the utmost explorations of psychedelic music. Presenting us with an amalgam of metal, stoner, electronica, jazzrock, free jazz, Grateful Dead like space excursions. And in the 20 min. title track all these elements blends effortless into a sonic masterpiece.
All played by three virtuosos with a stunning demand of their instruments. Adam Kriney a versatile world class drummer. Evan Sobel an inventive bass player with lots of interesting excursions in the upper register, from time to time sounding more like a second guitar though he certainly also knows how to groove. He is also a sonic wizzard responsible for the record's superb production. And the innovative guitarhero Phillipe Ortanez who seems to incorporate Hendrix, McLaughlin and Fripp into his own unique style.
Just a shame Kriney isn't nearly as effective as vocalist, but thxfully the vocals are just a minor part of the overall paradisiac landscape of pristine music adventures.
Heartwarming and mindmelting that there still exists bands like this on our little third stone from the sun."
