Synopsis

Album Description

The CD is based on a 90 minute cabaret show I wrote & performed. I didn't want to talk too much because I discovered songs that said everything I wanted to say . The CD is excerpts of that show, whose overall theme was "relationships." What's great and what's not so great about them. While I am a very proud (and out) African-American Gay male, I wanted to explore romance in all forms as my friends both straight and gay have had very similar experiences in a quest to find their heart's desire. The show "Intimacy" is autobiographical at times, humorous, bittersweet and very romantic. At it's very core is romance & the honesty it takes to explore it with someone else. It's my hope you'll experience that and perhaps much more with my debut CD "Intimacy". The style is straight ahead cabaret jazz / piano & voice. Enjoy!

"Wow... dang. Wow... Though I'm a literate person, while listening to this CD I just found myself swept away, uttering words like 'wow', dang', or just gasping... because this collection of songs is truly amazing. Brilliant, lush, romantic and expressive interpretations performed by a truly gifted artist. Personally I can't get enough of track 13, "Grateful". So my advice to you is this: grab a loved one, dim the lights, open a nice bottle of wine, cuddle in a nice big easy chair, close your eyes, and let LaMont bring that blank canvas in your mind to life as he weaves and paints the lyric stylings that will stay with you long after the 13 tracks are over. Witty, soulful, playful, sensual... these are but a few of the stops on your journey with LaMont as you explore the road to "Intimacy". This CD is a true find. You won't be sorry."

"I recommend this CD - not just because I know and respect the artist, but because it's a fantastic collection of story songs. Those of you who know LaMont might be surprised to learn that this is not a CD of jazz standards or pop favorites. What you'll find and discover here is a CD of songs of love and emotion in a cabaret setting with only piano accompaniment. This "intimate" format offers you a seat next to the stage where you can hear and witness the heart-felt emotion and dynamic delivered in every lyric. If you're a fan of good songs and good singers, I think you'll enjoy this effort. I can tell you that I do!"
