"London issued this as a monaural long ago, but with its very fine monaural sound. Mado Robin was at her best, 'the highest voice in the world', sometimes like a whistle; and the Opera Comique was then a real troupe, working very well together. The whole thing was a wonderful experience, and finely recorded.
This reprint is as tubby a sound as you can get and a great disappointment. If you collect Robin and want something of an idea how she performed ensemble, this will help imagine what the original was like. It would be nice to see this re-issued in adequate sound."
