"It seems that Lalo has established his complete, new style of performance and arrangement with WDR big band. In "JAZZ GOES TO HOLLYWOOD," he succeeds best in realizing it. Theme of COOL HAND LUKE and that of CINCINNATI KID with female vocal are better than original ones. And, MISSION : IMPOSSIBLE and BULLITT are in very powerful and wonderful performance. Thus, Lalo will develope his "cool latin jazz" world with WDR big band to the future. Then, I must say one thing. Although BULLITT which is said to be released in this year, being re-recorded by WDR big band, is very welcomed, there are many works of Lalo which have never been released yet. So, I want to listen in newly recorded CDs to his old works such as of TELEFON, ST. IVES, THE MASTER GUNFIGHTER, CHARLEY VARRICK, HIT!, COOGAN'S BLUFF, WHO'S MINDING THE MINT, WAY...WAY OUT, BLUE LIGHT and JOYHOUSE. I expect that those CDs recorded by WDR big band will be released in the near future.."
