"Known primarily as an author (Four Fabulous Faces), Larry Carr's smooth, romantic crooning deserves more recognition today. He started in the 1930s, but did very little recording through the years. Thankfully, Audiophile saw fit to get Carr on record, this CD being released just after his death.



In this CD you will find a singer with a most unique approach. His voice is, admittedly, a little raspy, and his notes are sometimes a bit off, but he makes up for that with a clear understanding of his material. And what material! Instead of concentrating on the over-revived classics, Carr dips into the little heard gems - the moving "Always and Always" and "A Ship Without a Sail," the sexy "If I Could Be With You One Hour Tonight" and "Wild Honey," and the sprightly "Fresh as a Daisy" -to list but a few of the highlights here. These songs have never been sung with more feeling. Carr should get more attention for his vocal skills, his presentation, and his piano playing. This is an excellent CD. Discover a great singer who, unjustly, has fallen through the cracks."
