A unique sound - mellow and jazzy

"Other people seem to be very familiar with the name Larry Heard, with house music often being mentioned in the same sentence - the only one of his albums I've come across is this one, and house music is the last thing that comes to my mind when listening to this. The sound of the music as a whole is incredibly mellow and easy-listening, with a strong jazz element and slightly cheesy, though not off-putting, edge that stems from the synth instruments and melody loops - I might even say some tracks are a bit...romantic. The percussion is conventional stuff, mostly slow breakbeat, and some dance tracks thrown in for good measure. I love this album - it has to be said. As a recommendation, I gave it a score of 4, because it is a tad repetitive, and I can see it might not be for everyone. To me however, the unique, calming sound has given me a soft spot for it, and as such it has sentimental value to me."
