"THE LAST DAYS
On the last day
there'll be music,
or the memory of music,
the remnant of ourselves.
The last days will be spent walking
in solitude and silence through a neglected garden
where the flowers bloom profusely
without care.
On the last day there'll be music,
motes of melody afloat in the air
until the Earth's memory of us
fades.
When the last days have lasted
long enough,
only the absence of our noises
which we called music
will last.

"Bryars never seizes to amaze me: everything he thouches seems to turn into gold. Although this doesn't strike me as his 'best' work, it still contains ample beauty to shut me up, and force me to listen. The melodic lines evolve quite fast compared to "After The Requiem", "Jesus' Blood" or "Cadman Requiem"; although the album contains 72 minutes of violin-music, it's never boring."
