"A wonderful album of Baroque music! If you have never gotten into Baroque Music you might use this as an introduction to 15th and 16th century music. Even if you are not into Baroque you will love the performances on the album. I might note that this was the Number 20 bestselling album in the UK when first published back in 2004.
The manufacturer has omitted the fact that the two outstanding vocalists are none other that Lorin Wey (Boy Soprano) and Terry Wey (altus) and they only gives a passing reference on the back insert. The two boys have the outstanding voices given only by God.
Terry and Lorin were not in the insert booklet. Presumably the 2nd edition booklet contains a correction of this major oversight. Mr. Oehms, the publisher hasn't yet recovered from the bombardment of complaints he had received for not having included them in the 1st edition booklet. On amazon.de I think you can even hear excerpts.
Terry Wey - may be heard on the album "Borne to sing" and in performances with the Vienna Boys Choir. You may also catch him on You Tube.
Lorin Wey - may be heard on the album "Hey, Ho the Wind and the Rain" winner of the solo Trebby award in 2003. Also you may be able to find (rare) "Lorin Wey, Boy Soprano".
If you love guitar you will enjoy the performances of Pierre Pits on the Baroque Guitar.
The Baroque period instruments being played are beautiful with magnificent tonal quality and outstanding perfromaces by:
Pierre Pitzl Baroque Guitar
Thomas Wimmer Viol, cornamusa
LLija Korel Baroque Violin
Isabella Schneider Baroque Violin
Elizabath Taschner Baroque Cello
A word of warning most of the commentary is in German, but there are translations.
In conclusion BUY IT before it goes out of print!
