"Having released her highly acclaimed semi-biography album "Change" last October, Laura comes back with this Special Asian Tour Edition with a bonus disc contains 4 new previously unreleased tracks. Just when you think Laura recorded everything possible in jazz standards, love ballads, easy listening, bossa nova, chansons, latin, Japanese themes and even Mandarin pops, she comes up with something new and, as always, it is a success. This time, a duet with an Asian jazz singer in Rod Temperton's "Baby come to me". Offering his rich voice, "The King of Jazz" of Hong Kong doesn't hold up beside Laura's despite the fact that they recorded the song in separate studios. You can't tell? But most of all, the important thing is to allow you to be absolutely and unconditionally swept away by this charming and romantic song interpreted by these well-matched artists. This is definitely a cool duet with universal appeal.Characterised by a heart warming, butter wouldn't melt beautiful track "Someone Like Me" and the catchy tune "Good Things" which easily fit into Laura's portfolio that she delivers those loving feelings again.With the impressive heartfelt love ballad "He Saw Her There (The Trip:Tonic Remix), Laura brings us back to Cairo, Egypt in 1945 to a night club where a fairy tale began. A true love story about her father (a rich Dutchman) and her mother (an Egyptian bellydancer) how they met and fell in love at first sight. Listening to this emotional and memorable love song, it reminds me exactly how sexy Laura really is in Live at her "Change" Asian Tour. She even does some belly dancing when she interprets this song on stage. What a great artist and a true entertainer! The style as a whole on this album is new and reflects a new inner Laura. That's whey there's a new and free Laura. And musically, as far as the melodies and the lyrics go, they are free too. Laura croons with effortless grace and her smooth and sultry delivery shimmers with remarkable elegance that blends in perfectly with the music, adding a sense of sophistication to a soft and breezy jazzy night.Again, a truly delightful and sterling release for those who love Laura. The best amongst the best in 2002. Trust me!..."
