"I discovered this ep huddling amongst the others whilst rummaging at the local cd shop... i first noticed the price, $10 aussie, and then the name, which was instantly familiar because of big sister Natalie.
The title and artwork looked very indie and intriguing, so gave it a home immediately. Upon a listen I was pleased to hear that it wasnt like anything i imagined her sis doing.
A mix of lively acoustic guitar rhythms and strong vocal harmonies, Laura sings pleasant angsty pop and writes as well.
It's cutesy in parts and immature, but heartfelt and meaningful also. The teen issues of love, anger and heartbreak are written into the quirky lyrics; that can't help make you feel something. She seems to be enjoying herself, even whilst making fun of herself - 'Flop in the sack'. Taking an interest in nature she delights the world with her passion for Cicadas.
She sings happy songs about stuff we all can enjoy and sing along to. Another creative aussie chick singing about what she wants to.
Its worth a listen.
It will be interesting to hear what she can do when she grows up, and hopefully not lose her inner child.."

"Buy this CD if you are a fan of poignant, catchy and well-crafted pop songs.Laura has recorded a delightful collection of songs for her first EP. After seeing her perform as support for Tegan & Sara, I rushed to buy this CD. I discovered songs containing witty, funny and touching lyrics delivered in a unique and uncontrived voice.Ms Imbruglia draws you into her quirky world with songs about cicadas, her first boyfriend and vegan punks. Priceless, endearing and full of so much promise. This CD sets Laura up to become a fine singer/songwriter to sit rightfully beside other greats such as Jill Sobule."
