"For any twisted individual who would mock this album and more specifically the `God Bless the
USA' track, I pity you. Why you may think yourself some sort of `progressive', better then such
simple folks who turn to this song in such a trying period, you just simply missed the boat.
Jingoistic you say? Overly patriotic you say? I say listen to the lyrics Mr. Greenwood wrote and
try to leave prejudice aside for a brief moment. Mr. Greenwood writes of a simple and proud man,
who understands why a simple and proud nation that is the USA is worth sacrificing one's life for.
This notion is foreign to many who take their freedom and liberty for granted and see no
uniqueness in what the USA has done for this world in its relatively short existence. This world is
the better for the PROUD and BRAVE Americans who have championed freedom and liberty to a
often hostile audience. So I say thank you America, thank you for your continued promotion of
such a noble cause. This Canadian would gladly stand up with (and for) America."
Songs From the Heart of America

"My daughter and I LOVE this CD of Lee Greenswood's tribute
to our wonderful nation. The songs are mostly well-known
patriotic favorites like "America the Beautiful," "My
Country, 'Tis Of Thee," "This Land Is Your Land," and
"The Battle Hymn Of The Republic" compiled with the
inspiring hit "God Bless The U.S.A." and "The Great Defenders."
Lee Greenwood's version of "This Land Is Your Land" is upbeat
and fun to sing, and "The Great Defenders" is a song that honors
the men and women who serve in our armed forces. He names every
branch of the American military--even the U.S. Coast Guard and the Reserves! It's a lively, fast-paced song. Mr. Greenwood's
arrnagement of "The Battle Hymn Of The Republic" is the most beautiful that I've ever heard. This CD reminds me that I am blessed to live in America. For people who are less familiar with
the words to the more traditional patriotic songs, this is an easy way to learn them. Add this one to your collection and ENJOY!!!"

"Hey unlike what the other reviewer said this is a great CD and the title track is wonderful..
sure there is more to a country then you can fit into one song and you can't really boil it all down into such a simple song BUT if you think only that way about music then no song is good enough to listen to since they all try their best to fit life into one song.
but anyway i have always loved the song and it's along the line of other patriotic songs and whats not to like? good singer and lyrics so it works.
and lets not forget there are other fine songs on this CD.
greenwood is a good singer and if your a fan of his then for the price how can you go wrong?"

"An awesome CD. I am a 20 year veteran of the Armed Services. While stationed with the 3rd Infantry Division in Germany in the early 80's when Lee first cut "God Bless The USA". I identified completely with this song. It is hard to put into words about what it means to be an American, but Lee Greenwood has done it and more. Since the first time I heard this song I knew it was destined for greatness!"

"This guy has a voice of Gold. The material he sings is written beautifully. His interpretation brings another layer of beauty. Go ahead a buy this one. It represents the best of the best of this National Treasure and Legend. You can play his songs and get a favorable response from grandma to teenagers. This one is a KEEPER."
