"I am actually a critic of most so called "smooth jazz" artist. However Rit does a nice job on this album. I particularly like the opening song "Rio Funk". It's just the type of funky jazz song that a Brazilian artist would actually do. Although Rit is not Brazilian he has several Brazilian guest musicians on this album including the great Gonzugingha who is the son of the even greater Louis Gonzaga. Anyway listen to him sang on "E" and you will feel the spirit of Brazil in this music. Another surprise is a remake of the Isley Brothers "Can't Let Go". Phil Perry handles the vocals which keeps the song interesting by not making it a instrumental gloss over. Great stuff!"

"When this first came out, I didn't have a CD player, I purchased it on tape. When i then purchased a CD player the tape was sorta set aside with the idea that someday i would get it on CD. 22 years later here i am listening to this on a new CD i just bought and feeling like it was the first time all over again. This CD has such a wonderful blend of acoustic guitar, electric piano and percussion. Hot latin rhythm and smooth jazz meet to make every tune a gem. Most of the numbers are Upbeat instrumentals, but Vocals and ballads appear enough to make this a well rounded listening experience. Lee Ritenour is a very talented musician and he diserves a second look from all his old fans and if you never heard him before, its a must, you don't know what your missing. Enjoy!"
Ritenour at his BEST; heart-felt album!!

""Color Rit" is quite arguably Ritenour's best album. Tracks like "Bahia Funk" and "The Kiss" can be felt in your soul. It reaches deep to the depths of the soul and mind and is very heart-felt. A soft, melodic, jazz album."
Excellent

"This cd is both funky and jazzy! The title track is the best. Lee at his best!"
One of the best jazz albums to come out.
