"This double cd is absolutely essential for any true rock'n'roll lover. It chronicles the career of the REAL king of rock, from his earliest recordings with The Rockin' Vickers in the mid 1960s to his various collaborations with other artists, most recently Dave Grohl in 2004. We are treated to a few Motorhead songs, a few Hawkwind tunes and an abundance of hard-to-find nuggets of pure rock'n'roll gold. Of course, everybody won't like every song; the purpose of this very decently edited anthology is to serve up a representative selection from a mind-blowing career, and it is an extremely pleasing experience to leaf through it, as it were, and discover unknown gems from the past. Lemmy is the ultimate rock'n'roll frontman, there is no doubt about it. If you're seriously interested in rock music, this is a required purchase."
Lemmy - 'Damage Case: Lemmy Anthology' (Castle Music)

"Holy cow! One question: what would I do without online access? Answer: I'd be VERY uninformed about releases like this one for awhile. A nicely packaged 2-CD, 31 track anthology of some of Lemmy's most memorable work, from 1966 - 2005. As most of you know, before forming the notorious metal legend Motorhead, Lemmy (full name: Ian Fraser Kilminster) played bass and sang for long-running space rock pioneers Hawkwind, from 1971-75. But what a few of you may not know, is that even BEFORE Hawkwind, Lemmy was in other bands, such as the Rockin' Vicars, Sam Gopal and a very short stint with Opal Butterfly. 'Damage Case' features many tunes that I've never heard Lemmy on any CD or even out-of-print lp or cassette for that matter. Some very worth while tracks here, like a version of Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz",two Metallica covers, sang by Lemmy-"Enter Sandman" and "Whiplash",an Iron Maiden tune,"The Trooper" (Lemmy covers this track exceptionally well)and a Sam Gopal cut,"Escalator". Then there are more familiar tracks, like Hawkwind's "Silver Machine" and "The Watcher" as well as several Motorhead shin-crushers,"Killed By Death","1916","Iron Horse/Born To Lose" and "Over The Top". Essential! So highly recommended for true Motorhead fans,it's nearly breath-taking."

"This has some early stuff and some cool covers of artists totally different from Lemmy.Lemmy is able to pull it off! I especially like the cover of Maiden's "trooper"!"
