Lennie Tristano was, undoubtedly, one of the more radical artists in Modern Jazz. As a pianist, Tristano brought about a very personal approach to the Bop idiom, based upon purity of sound and emotional restrainment, this original approach was in the origins of the cool school. This 20-bit remastered CD gathers some of the more distinguished samples of Tristano's approach to piano, a style which today still manages to sound unusual and instructive.
