Not many compositions by Leone Sinigaglia (1868-1944) are remembered at all these days, and this lapse is now deservedly being corrected with the present recording. These works are from the thirty surviving examples of the composer's chamber songs, preserved by the Fondo Sinigagli of the library at the Verdi College of Music in Turin. The songs use lyrics by German, Italian, and French poets, as well as some folk lyrics.
