2009 album from the Chicago-based singer/songwriter, who has previously recorded under the name Plush. Bright Penny is both a cohesive song cycle and a collection of discreet Pop singles. Its scope spans the radio dial, creating a sound that can only really be called Plush. Recorded in Chicago, Bright Penny is a collaboration with the city's storied talent and features support from such Chicagoans as Morris Jennings (Chess Records stalwart and Curtis Mayfield's "Superfly" drummer), Bernard Reed (Jackie Wilson's bass player and member of Chicago's legendary Pieces Of Peace), Tom Tom MMLXXXIV (Horn and string arranger for Earth, Wind and Fire, The Jacksons and Phil Collins), The Autumn Defense (Wilco's John Stirratt and Pat Sansone) and many others.
