"This band, in the great Minneapolis tradition of The Replacements and Husker Du, just rocks. The lyrics are extremely witty and slightly depraved (many songs are about hedonistic excess and its aftermath), the rhythm section is tight and kinetic, the guitars are scratchy and melodic (a la Gang of Four), and Craig (the lead singer) has a voice like Paul Westerberg's gruff older brother. They rock live, and this album is just a hit of their energy. It rarely leaves my stereo. Great for a night out of debauchery and shameful acts. See them live, or at least pick this up and imagine them trashing a stage near you."

"Words cannot discribe how much I adore Lifter Puller. If at first you're turned off by lead singer Craig Finn's voice, I urge you to give them at least a second chance. Once you really give them a good listen, you can't help but get sucked into the twisted lives of all the great charachers that show up through out all of LFTR PLLR's albums. Each song is like a chapter from a book you can't put down. Five stars doesn't do them justice."
