COMMENTS: "Psychoschizoprenia" is one of those criminally overlooked hard rock albums of the 1990's. In the same vein as Blue Murder, Enuff Z'Nuff, Mr. Big, Brother Cane... bands with a boat-load of talent that just (haven't or) didn't break the rock scene as big as they should have. Lillian Axe is a band with something to say. Their songs are deeper than the standard rock song. Lyrics concerned about adversity, mental awareness and tranquility, prayer, traveling inside the mind, forgiveness, lost love and the magic of innocence, and "the potential of our world to be a place of peace and beauty only to be destroyed by those who live by lust and greed". "Psychoschizoprenia" starts off with a rock solid 1-2-3 punch ("Crucified", "Deepfreeze" and "Moonlight In Your Blood"). Hard driving guitars, great rhythms and heavy drumming. The Axe slow it down on "Stop The Hate" with a powerful message - Love vs Hate - and the world is crumbling to pieces simply because people have allowed it. Other memorable tracks include "Voices In My Walls" - a great rocker about a nightmarish dream of a haunted house, the slower "Now You Know", and title track (a great last track to end the album). "Psychoschizoprenia" also features 2 acoustic ballads "The Needle And Your Pain" (dedicated to a dying friend with cancer), and the soothing "The Day I Met You" (a lost love reminiscing about the magic of innocence and the ultimate plea of forgiveness... "But if I could set aside one day, that I could hold forever, I would save the day that I met you"). Lillian Axe is so much more than just another 80's hair band that made it into the 90's. Talented musicians writing rocking melodies with a higher message. I have several of their albums and "Psychoschizoprenia" is my favorite (4.5 stars)."
