CD Reviews

Blurton Lends a Hand To Saskadelphia Bros.
Billy Slicer | Saskadelphia, Sask. Canada | 05/30/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"From the ashes of the Age of Electric, for the first time officially on their own, the Dahle bros. release a masterpiece. The lyrics are Pixies esq, the music is more diverse than the debut, and Ian Blurton (ex change of heart frontman) plays on a track. How much better can it get?"
This is the Cure..

"For all that sucks in the music industry. This is the type of album that should be a widely known classic but can't be because of how unknown the band is. You don't come across musicianship like this every day. Like one of the other two reviewers mentioned, the chemistry with this group is one of a kind (he/she wasn't kidding, trust us). This album proves that complexity is not really needed at all to get quality. It shows that music most certainly doesn't need to be complex to be good. Some of the best music ever made is very simplistic. But there are still parts that are complex on this album. There are many interesting moments throughout most of the songs because of the amount of tempo changes they have. This album is very catchy but is not repetitive at all. That's the problem with many potentially great albums, that they're incredibly catchy but very repetitive. This one doesn't suffer from that at all. This is perfect music in my eyes that you can listen to no matter what mood you're in and not be able to help but be in a good mood from it. It's a relaxing, rocking and fun album. I think this band is like no other band I have ever heard and write songs in a way that has been absent for several years in the music industry now. This album is an instant classic to me and both this one and their new one called I/O are nothing short of brilliant. Get this. You don't know what you're missing without it."
The only album I have ever felt compelled to review

"Perfect composition, disturbingly beautiful and sometimes alarming lyrics accompany amazing songwriting and one of a kind (no kidding) chemistry. Please someone give the Dahle brothers a place in our hearts. WOW!
It is very hard to write a review for an album that is a gift from GOD to us as this album is, yet I feel compelled to try. I have a collection of recording from many genres dating back to 1929 and still I find this album to be one of the magic moments in music history.
It is often said that people can love or hate an album depending on the environmental surroundings around them when they first listen to it. That may be true for most albums, but with this one I must admit that I was blown away when I first heard it and not because the place and time where right.
The production value is unbelievable and the lyrical placement and execution is flawless and yet human.
I have every release that these brothers have done that I can find. This Limblifter album is by far the most satisfying journey ever. I hesitate to mention other bands in my review but here is what I consider the ultimate compliment. No one I've heard has ever done a collection of music as incredible as Bellaclava! I have over 4000 recordings. -Theecricket"
