"Before the last few numbers on this CD, I would have rated it no more than three stars. But on "Ira's Blues" and "Will You Still Be Mine," the group really got it together. Before that, this was a very uneven recording. There was some fine playing by Halliday and Ira Sullivan, someone I always want to hear more of, but also some very mediocre moments. These included an obviously missed que on one number which left everyone struggling to recover, some weak soloing by pianist Jodie Christian, and just a periodic lack of confidence and cohesiveness.



Christian did redeem himself on later pieces. Bassist Dennis Carroll and drummer George Fludas held their own throughout."
