"Utilizing long-time conductor for the Supremes, Gil Askey, Linda Clifford shines gloriously on this dance version of the Shirley McLaine standard that was also the first song used to introduce Diana Ross' replacement (Jean Terrell) in the Supremes on the Ed Sullivan show. Clifford is great here, if you can find it."
5 Stars for the album itself, and of course for Mme. Cliffor

"I agree with one of the other reviewers: The sound quality on this CD is very muddy. It sounds like it was mastered from an old LP, with constant (and quite audible) pops and some minor distortion. From the first few seconds of the title track on through the whole album, the sound is tinny and sounds- to be frank- like crap. I also noticed that track two cuts off midway through the fade-out, and the abrupt ending is very noticeable.
The album itself is amazing, a true testament to the many dimensions of disco. And, of course, Linda Clifford sounds amazing here!
So, it is truly a shame that they would release a CD of this sound quality (or rather lack thereof), ironically after the liner notes comment on how "sensational" and "magnificent" a work this is. If they truly wanted to demonstrate the greatness of the recording, they could have actually put some effort into quality re-mastering and restoration. As it is, it sounds like they were just after the $$$$ and did a half-ass job.
I had purchased this album to replace (supplement actually) my LP copy of the album, and it just didn't do it for me. That said, the album itself is great, so it may be worth it to purchase it and suffer the sound quality to experience the music quality.
(P.S. I should also add that this is my second recent comment on a poor-sound-quality album. I am very bad at writing reviews, mostly because of the time commitment involved, but I feel it is only right to warn people against unwise purchases)."

"I've been looking for this Music for a year now. A friend of my lost 250 lbs and she looks great. I gave her New Attitude by Pattie Labelle and If my friends could see me now is a wonderful gift. I also need it for a Variety Show for children (all ages) who's self esteem and self worth is zero, because of various changes/dilemma in their lives. I have this great passion to manifest a variety show for a good cause. Linda clifford's "If my Friends Could see me now" is very powerful with excellent beats and young children respond to Disco music. I want to teach and show them they are beautiful inside and outside, and they are truly Special and Unique. At least, I can make a difference. I might not able to reach everyone, but I know in my heart I can touch a few, and that alone is truly a wonderful gift of all. This version of Linda Clifford's music inspired and helped me a great deal when changes occured in my life with 2 children, and Now..... If My Old Friends Could See Me Now....They will be amazed.... Please, Anybody out there!!!!! find this album/cd.....I need your help....Aloha,Pelekalani"
