One for My Baby (And One More for the Road) - Linda Eder, Arlen, Harold
The marvelous voice of Linda Eder takes center stage in her fourth solo album, recorded when the singer was seven months pregnant. Unlike Streisand, however, Eder is strongly associated with a single composer--her husband, pop-Broadway man Frank Wildhorn, whose songs with lyricist Jack Murphy continue to dominate Eder's repertoire on It's No Secret Anymore. Of particular interest here are four songs from the yet-to-be-produced show Havana--a not-surprising combination of bombast, balladry, and Latin dance-pop. Wildhorn's work usually receives mixed reviews, but no question it sounds best when sung by Eder. For unconvinced critics, there is also one non-Wildhorn song on this album, the Arlen-Mercer classic "One for My Baby," that proves that Linda Eder can sing just about anything. --David Horiuchi« less

"Linda Eder proves without a doubt that she has one of the best singing voices around. I have not been as excited about a cd as I have with Linda's latest, and I can't stop listening to it. Each song showcases Ms. Eder's incredible voice, while her style and interpretation perfectly fit each song. The arrangements and the orchestrations are flawless and contribute to the overall enjoyment of the cd. Some of these songs are bound to become classics - in fact, you will think you are listening to proven standards when you hear songs like "It's No Secret Anymore". The song "Why Do People Fall in Love" should become a huge hit, as well as "This Time Around" and "Even Now". I don't know whether you would classify the songs on this cd as ballads, blues, jazz, pop or Broadway and frankly I don't care - it is almost as if Ms. Eder's singing is "too marvelous for words". If you did not know it before, this cd will prove to you that Linda Eder deserves her place among the best female vocalists ever. Hopefully, the songwriting team of Frank Wildhorn and Jack Murphy will continue their collaboration because they, along with Ms. Eder, have created a gem."

"This is the most heart throbbing album yet to come from Frank Wildhorn and be sung so beautifully by his talented and beautiful wife, Linda Eder. Each song is so beautiful, it brings one to tears. This surpasses the "It's Time" Album, only, in that one, they also have the matching sheet music to go with it. I cant wait till the matching sheet music comes for "Its No Secret Anymore". I have all of Frank Wildhorns sheet music on musicals and enjoy playing them daily on the piano. Its even better to play the music on the piano and play the matching cd at the same time listening to the beautiful voice of Eder."

Best voice since Barbra Streisand

"I got this CD about 3 days ago and have not been able to stop listening to it since. Each song is beautifully sung and orchestrated. Songs like "Why Do People Fall in Love?" and "Even Now" are tender and touching, and "Vienna" absolutely took my breathe away. One of the best performances of a song since "People." I didn't think I'd ever find another voice that could compare with Ms. Streisand - how happy I am that I was wrong. I've already ordered two other CD's and will await all future releases. Thank you, my dear Ms. Eder, for sharing your God given gift with all of us."
