Avoid it Like the Plague

"I have been to concerts where in the flush of the moment I bought a CD by the group. Had I been to this one, I might have been tempted to buy the recording sheerly for the memory of having so many greats together. But the next morning, I would have hated myself. Nostalgia is all well and fine, but this is embarrassing. The first song, "Corner Pocket" is like a first rehearsal, dirge-like and totally disorganized. The second, "Just Jazz' has a few moments of good licks by James Moody, but is otherwise instantly forgettable. The finale, the inevitable, "Flying Home" should be called "Limping Back." A complete waste of good money."
