""Mondi Sommersi" (1997, Underwater worlds) closes the sequel of Litfiba's albums dedicated to the four elements: "El Diablo" (1990, The Devil - Fire), "Terremoto" (1993, Earthquake - Earth) and "Spirito" (1994, Spirit - Air). It is also the last inspired album released by the band (which was a duo, in truth). Even though Ghigo Renzulli (guitar) and Piero Pelù (voice) worked together on one more studio album, the result was quite insignificant, and they left a lack even before splitting up officially in 1999, after two decades of career.This album is far from the perfection of "Spirito" or "Terremoto", but nevertheless it includes one of Litfiba's most powerful and innovative track: "Ritmo 2" (Rhythm 2), a magnificent blend of trendy pop and pure rock. "Regina di Cuori" (Queen of Hearts) is a traditional Litfiba's song coming straight from the Eighties... so different in style from the track that follows, "Goccia a goccia" (Drop by drop), a gorgeous almost-ballad. Other catchy songs on the album include "Si può" (One can), "Sparami" (Shoot me) and "Apri le tue porte" (Open your doors). As for "Ritmo 1", the arrangements are a little bit more -let's say latinos, which goes very good with some of the lyrics written in Spanish (most of the refrain, in truth).But sitll, I think that "Goccia a goccia" and "Ritmo 2" are good enough to justify the amount on your credit card. If this is your first Liftiba's, I suggest you to buy "Spirito" (1994), "Terremoto" (1993, more rock, sometimes heavy metal-like) or maybe a collection like "Tequila - Viva Liftiba" (A double CD album. A second one "Viva Litfiba 2" has also been released). Litfiba's sound is unique and Piero Pelù's voice (and lyrics) cannot be compared to any other. Oh the other hand, if you like Pearl Jam, or Third Eye Blind, or even some Red Hot Chilli Peppers, you will probably like this album."
