This collection includes some of the finest work by Tejano legend Little Joe. His best polka rancheras are here in the galloping "Ni Nena," the robust "Acabame de Matar," and the party-rouser "Borrachera." Joe also throws ... more »in his appreciation of trad country with the standard shuffle "Waltz Across Texas" and his duet with Willie Nelson on "You Belong to My Heart," an English-language remake of Agustin Lara's "Solamente una Vez." But Little Joe has always been a serious student of the great Mexican folkloric songwriter José Alfredo Jimenez. He pays his respects with above-average takes on the endless love ode "Paloma Querida," the reflective "Aunque Pasen los Años," and the bittersweet-resignation song "Pa' Todo el Año." --Ramiro Burr« less

"Little Joe has been a spokesman for Mexican-Americans and Tejano for so many years, it is hard to believe. "Las Nubes" is simply great. Music reporter Ramiro Burr hit it right on the head when he described Little Joe: "With his big band approach and marvelous knack for recording hard-hitting rancheras, Little Joe rose to the top of Tejano music in the mid '70s, a wild boomtown period considered the genre's first golden age. At his peak Little Joe evoked a dangerous edge in his music, combining the power of the blues and the free-wheeling spirit of rock to propel his robust fusion of the blistering Mexican ranchera and the life-affirming Tejano polka," in his solid work "The Billboard Guide to Tejano and regional Mexican Music." This is really great."
It was GREAT!

"Looks like Little Joe has got him another great album under his belt. The variety and selection is typical of the quality he has brought us year after year. Joe,Bob G. you guys make a great team along with the rest of the Familia. How about "enredaste mi vida" I am dieing to hear it. That was one of my favorites under the Buena Suerte Label. Bring on the oldies vato."
Tejano at it's best!

"Ever since I was a boy, I have listened to Little Joe (& The Latiners). Unfortunatly, most of his classic music (released on the "Buena Suerte" label) are no longer available, anything from this tejano lejend is most pleasing to these ears. I had the pleasure of meeting Little Joe in person at a concert in Tucson, AZ. along with other tejano artists (Selena, Sunny Ozuna, Jimmy Edward, etc.), Keep the tejano comming & alive! Muchas Gracias. Frank Luna (a.k.a., "El Chavalo Loco")"
