"Being a fan of Little Louie Vega I expected much much more from this cd. I was very disappointed and I caution anyone looking for the greatness of some other Louie Vega house music works to look elsewhere. This dance set reminds me of the music dj's play at clubs before midnight, you know, before the party actually starts. There is no continuity to the set at all and it sounds like Louie was given ten records to mix as best he could. I hate to think there were other records to choose from to make this set. The mixing is good but the music selection is less than average. The only tracks worth mentioning on this cd are "I'm Glad You Came To Me", "I Desire You", and "Somebody Skat'n." The rest is average or just plain bad. Tracks 2 & 10 could have very easily been left off this compilation. This cd would have been a little better if the music weren't mixed, thus the listener would at least know the various tracks weren't necessarily supposed to go together. I can't even imagine trying to dance to this entire cd non-stop. Without the three tracks I really liked, the rating would've been my first ever 1 star. What we have here is a dj's nightmare and just because a skilled dj can mix anything, doesn't mean it's to be done!"

"Here's a combination of mixing and production I was delightfully surprised to see; with Louie Vega and Rheji Burrell collaborating to bring a great sampling of the Burrell's work from the legendary label, Nugroove. Rheji and Ronald's contribution to the classic New York house sound is extraordinary. This CD contains some tracks not included in previous NuGroove compilations, such as, "I'm Glad You Come To Me", "Somebody Skat'n", and "I Desire U". Even this CD does not begin to cover the amount of excellent tracks by the Burrell's NuGroove years, but any chance to find more of their classic material released on CD is a treasure."

"I have this cd, and it is fantastic. Songs I listened to on the radio and in the clubs in NYC. When I purchased it I only recalled knowing some of the songs by name. Once I listened I realized I knew almost all of the songs. Excellent buy for those true house (garage) fans."
Wasn't NU Groove's catalog a bit larger than this!?

"Little Louie does it again...blah blah blah...
Although it's an above average compilation, it fails to really capture the innovative, uncompromising essence that was once NU Groove (and Burrell), as other, even better, tracks were left out!
Louie has played many NU Groove tracks before, it's not like he's unfamiliar w/ the label, but still...
Also, at least 5 additional tracks could've been "mixed" into this compilation, if they really wanted to mix it.
This wouldn't appeal to most of the younger cats, but I would strongly advise them to research NU Groove on 12" vinyl format!"
