Best Performances at the Bavaria State Opera from 1997-2005

"I confess that I bought the disc specifically to get the CD version of Kasarova's 'Amour, viens rendre' live performance in Gluck's Orphee et Eurydice. I have the DVD of the performance and have been wearing it out. The sound is better on this disc than on the DVD. Kasarova is Orphee with the can do attitude and already dreaming of the glorious happiness to come with his rescue of Eurydice. The two L'incoronazione di Poppea piece with David Daniels are enchanting. And Anne Murray is really stellar as Xerxes. A must have disc for opera lovers! And newcomers also, a really good survey of excellent virtuoso opera pieces.

This disc is jammed with jaw dropping performances at the Bayerische. It includes:
