Unbelievable recording of Mendelssohn, Mozart, and Weber

"This terrific CD has the following works on it: Konzertstuck No. 1 by Felix Mendelssohn (for clarinet and bassoon), the Mozart Kegelstatt Trio (for clarinet, viola, and piano), and the Weber Quintet (clarinet and string quartet). The CD is a must-have because of the last selection alone. This is a recording made from a live performance at the Marlboro Music Festival in 1970. Previously this performance was released on cassette, but this is the first time it is available on CD. The emotive qualities of the work come to levels never achieved before or since under Mr. Wright's expert artistry. The strings (Vera Beths, Masi Tsumura, Philipp Naegele, and Jeffrey Solow), are complete collaborators. The Mozart Trio is a Tanglewood performance with Samuel Rhodes and Gilbert Kalish. The subtleties and depth of this work are often difficult to find in other commercial recordings, but not in this one. I have never heard it played better. The Mendelssohn (with the late bassoonist Sherman Walt) is a more intellectual work. Full justice is done with it.I highly recommend this recording."
