"Don Pullen is an extraordinary pianist of genius. It is a wonder why this world of music does not recognize true genius when it comes on the scene. We idolize the Pavarottis and the Perlmans, the Armstrongs and the Jacksons but unless there is a concerted effort to make people headline stars true genius gets little or no recognition. Pullen is an improvisor on the caliber of a Mozart or Liszt and it is truly evident on the CD "Live at the Village Vangaurd".ASIN B000003ZZ5 We can praise an Ellington to the skies and immortalize him and it is time to start to look to our great artists like Pullen and put them in the pantheon of of true geniuses of divine inspiration."

"Simply a masterpiece. The rhythmic intensity can be ecstatic at times. One of the finest improvs from Pullen and Adams."
