Superb Chamber jazz

"The combination of Davern and Wellstood is a hard one to beat. They played together for many years, and on this disc demonstrate an almost telepathic empathy. The programme ranges from stride showpiece "When Dreams Come True" to a smoky reading of "Don't Get Around Much Any More". Both Davern and Wellstood are in top form throughout, demonstrating utter mastery of their instruments. "Rosetta" and "Sunny Side of the Street" swing beautifully, while "Lady Be Good" has a wonderfully eclectic Wellstood solo. This is an album that will give enjoyment for years."
