CD ReviewsNice Music, for the Bob Fans Mark Coffey | Austin, Texas USA | 02/08/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "Bob Weir certainly takes his licks from a lot of Deadheads, but I don't count myself among them. I have always thought Weir's contributions were underrated, and several of his tunes are showstoppers. A couple of these make an appearance here (i.e., "Throwing Stones" and "Looks Like Rain"), but they don't really match the full band versions. Of much more interest are the true Weir solo tunes, which get nice understated acoustic renderings. Listened to all in one sitting, this one gets kinda dry, but it is definitely a nice change of pace, and if you're a Bob fan like me (hey, I know, Garcia is Garcia, but that doesn't mean you have to hate Bob!), you should definitely own this." Bobby at His Acoustic Best shinton@goes.com | Hackettstown, NJ | 12/04/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "Check out track six. A hauntingly beautiful "Looks Like Rain." I swear I can hear Jerry's mellow supporting rifts in the distant background! This album provides a nice visit back to the days of Heaven Help the Fool. Great job by Wasserman on bass, too. Thanks for a great overall listening experience!" "aimless noodling" aint necessarily a bad thing fan boy | kirkland, wa USA | 01/13/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "This CD is meant for moody rainy days spent by the fire. There is a comfortable melancholy of "This Time Forever" and "Shade Of Grey" that many might not really be interested. The acoustic guitar and stand up base format certainly isn't for everybody. I've got to admit there are months that I don't listen to it, but on that rare occasion it really does hit the spot."
