CD ReviewsA landmark release from the best Drum and Bass band AdV | N/A | 09/25/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) " Tony `London Elektricity' Colman is among the most prestigious producers in the drum and bass industry. Being a great idealist, he has always strived to give drum and bass a unique twist. London Elektricity is the first real drum and bass band. And "Billion Dollar Gravy" has that live-band flavor. It is a truly musical album; stylish and unique. The extraordinary musical talent behind Colman and team is reflected in the impressive 70-minute long Billion Dollar Gravy. Instant classics like "Billion Dollar Gravy", "The Great Drum and Bass Swindle", "Cum Dancing", "Different Drum", and all the tracks are a combination of jazzy percussion, classic strings, astonishing basslines, and melodic choruses and verses. The delivery is almost impeccable; everybody plays their part right. The Jungle Drummer is impressive at the drums, Liane Carrol brings the best out of the melodies with here heavenly voice, Andy Waterworth plays the basslines perfectly, Tim Land `Landslide' is really a human sample, and Colman makes the final arrangement flawlessly. This album is the best drum and bass release of the decade so far and only comparable with early classics like Adam F's `Colours' and Roni Size & Reprazent `New Forms'. The drum and bass world had been waiting for years for a real artistic and musical release; luckily for us, it has finally arrived. " Brilliant sail2themoon | New Zealand | 05/11/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "Really very nice and good. One of the better D 'n' B Albums to be put out in recent times. Best tracks Track 2, 7, and 10. Have a listen and go BANANAS. Also check out Breakbeat Era, Shapeshifter (NZ), and Pacific Heights (NZ)."
