My Album of 1999

"For me, the Longpigs long awaited follow up to 'The Sun Is Often Out' was a masterpiece that every UK music magazine seemed to forget about. From what I saw only one major UK music paper had it in their final album of the years list whilst others dismissed it completely. I can not express in words how much i love this album or how much i've listened to it since i've bought it. It's fantastic, every song is wonderful but the stand outs for me have to be 'Blue Skies', 'Dance Baby Dance', 'Frank Sonata' and 'I Lied I Love You'. As much as I also love the Longpigs debut, I think this is in many ways a much better album, more accomplished, more mature and it really does deserve to go down in music history as the classic album that is. I would recommend it to anyone. Its just one of those albums where you love every track and which you never get bored of listening to. Unfortunately, it's also going to be one of those albums that only a minority of people will ever hear. But those people will be all the better for it."

"The record is a masterpiece. But it takes a lot of gettinh used to. I was pretty appalled by 'Gangsters', which featured a long unfocussed rant at the end, and this song remains the weakest, along with 'Dance Baby Dance', a ramshackle piece of disco. But who can argue with 'Blue Skies'? 'Dog is Dead' and 'In the Snow' are also classics, which are destined never to be heard. i think Hunt's vocal virtuosity is the difference between the Pigs and the detritus of Britrock. He can do things with his voice that Liam Gallacher wouldn't dream of trying-check out 'I Lied I love You' for a prime example."
As emotional as it can get

"This may be the last limit before what is called "emotional overload". Mobile Home pulls you into itself and doesn't let you go. How beautiful it is to listen to a such a sincere piece of art..."
5 STAR CANNIBAL SODS in MOBILE HOME

"Mobile Home is captivating, a recording that truly putsLongpigs on the map for me. From the first listen alone, I washooked. My best evaluation is if James, Marion and Suede met A House for a whining lesson. MH demonstrates the originality of Blur's rebirth of The Kinks for Modern Life Is Rubbish. The slow songs are sexy (I don't use that word often) and the faster ones are sleek. Do not trust the British press for reviews...They are only giving Primal Scream 5 stars ( ). I am giving Longpigs 5 stars, because it truly deserves more. END"
