"This french collection of Lonnie Johnson songs from his "rediscovery" in the 60's gives maybe the finest overview of the best from this period. Starting off with his beautiful solo rendition of "Summertime", the collection mixes ballads, jazz, and blues neatly, like Lonnie loved to do both on albums and when performing live throughout his long career from the 20's to the mid 60's.
If you like this one, another great buy is the albums "Losing Game" and the 2 volumes of "Blues, Ballads and Jazz". Wonderful, sophisticated blues with great playing and singing all the way."
