"No one can capture the soul of DoWop of the 50s and early 60s as Kenny Vance can, no one. To see them in concert is to experience their love and reverence for the era and the music. This soundtrack perfectly reflects this.
The Planatones do not merely sing old songs, they bring these songs to fresh life as if you were at the Brooklyn Paramount or on the corner of 186th street and Belmont avenue in the Bronx, so long ago.
If you are too young to have lived during that time you can listen..and feel it through Kenny Vance. If you are old enough to remember street corner harmonizing and those haunting chords echoing from High School bathrooms and stairwells this album will sometimes chill you, thrill you bring a tear to your eye.

"I was introduced to this group when a friend let me borrow this CD. I was hooked, I had to purchase it to have it for my own. If you like Doo Wop you have to have this in your collection. My favorite is Please Say which he will blow you away. Sh Boom is another great one along with Looking For and Echo. I keep thinking the CD is over after Looking for an Echo but they do It's So Hard To Say Goodbye to Yesterday that keeps you wanting more. Kenny has a mello voice that makes you love the oldies. The more you play it the more you love it. Gotta get more CD's by this group. All thumbs up here!"

"When you listen to a song and it creates a sense of serenity, you have found a classic masterpiece. Kenny and the Planotones sound like angels with messages that create happiness .The title song is inovative and beautiful. "This I Swear" will have you in awe of the romance that this cd transends. So if you like to fall in love again, go out and purchase this sountrack. The entire album is great, you won't regret it."

"I was very young when doowop was popular and those were not the happiest days of my childhood, but this particular soundtrack is totally awesome...I cant stop playing it. I saw the movie on cable and fell in love with the music, especially the title song. There isnt one "dud" song on here...but one of the best besides the title is "this magic moment"..I remember it from the past but i dont recall that it had this fantastic instrumentation with it...the cello and violins on this song are simply wonderful. "Hushabye"is another which seems to have undergone a change for the better(though it was always a great song). Again the instrumentation is awesome. Kenny Vance and the Planotones don't try to imitate other groups, so rather than comparing them with the original singers(which can be very distracting and disturbing) one can simply listen and totally enjoy their renditions. The cd is also very nicely "organized" in that slow and fast songs seem to alternate. You never quite know what is coming, but each song is a pleasure. I was not a huge doowop fan back in the 50's; perhaps I was too young to appreciate the harmonies and rhythms then(and too caught up in rock n roll). This music has instilled a love of doowop for me, as well as bringing back a lot of memories. I highly recommend this cd to anyone who has any interest at all in music of the 50's. You wont be disappointed."

"All songs are performed by Kenny Vance & The Planotones. This group has been around a while and really has it's fingers on the pulse of doo wop and vocal group harmony. This is their best work by-far and I recommend this CD to anyone who loves doo wop music. Although all the cuts are outstanding, three are truly magnificent. The songs, "Your Way", "Life Is But A Dream", and "Please Say You Want Me" will send chills up your spine when you hear them. Don't hesitate.... buy this CD."
