"This is a really great CD with some energetic tracks and some soothing ones. It has catchy tunes, sounds, and rhythms. I have two other Loop Guru albums (Amrita and Duniya) and love them too, but I'd pick Loop Bites Dog any day. I rate this up with Anokha, Joi's One and One is One, and the Six Degrees Asian Travels CD as my favorites in this genre. It's too bad another reviewer has offset the average rating with a cynical two star score. Don't hesitate to get this CD if you have the chance!"
The best Loop Guru album...

"Ja Muud and Sam Gita have constructed the best Loop Guru release to date. This album is provocative and shines with a melting pot of cultural music. Adding electronica and tribal instruments, "Loop Bites Dog" houses some of the greatest tracks written by these wacky guys. "Jackdaw" & "Single Orphan First Year Cammel" are trance inducing with a rhythm and melody that can put you into a body groovin' mood. "Karma Marga", "Skin Heaven" & "Gungaroo" are perfect tracks to soothe you into slumber. This is a perfect album for anyone, even if you're not into world or electronica music. You will find that Loop Guru can set your mind free and send it into a world of unlimited possibilities."

"Listening to my first Loop Guru album (this one) was like finally finding that thing that you've been looking for everywhere. Total musical satisfaction! I thought these guys MUST be famous or at least well known but the opposite appeared to be the case. None of my friends ever heard of this absolut creative, eclectic music. Loop are the masters of combining ethnical influences (asian, east-oriental) with great melodies and wrapping it up with some interesting beats to this unique electronical music package. Whenever I play it people ask me who this is and end up buying it too! No hesitations to recommend it to anyone who likes bands like Transglobal Underground, Enigma, Dead can dance and such....by the way, ALL their albums are that good!"
Agree- The Best Loop Guru

"This release is one of the first three I bought from Loop Guru. The pieces on this record still sort give you the Loop Guru signature tease towards the trance beat, but in general these pieces have more hard percussive bites to them. For those not familiar with Loop Guru, they were popular on the rave curcuit in the early nineties right through the late nineties. The beats that the band generates are infectous, yet sort of calming at the same time. Even this slightly, harder-edged recording lends itself to this kind of effect. Intellengent music. Mostly instramental. A Most-Worthy spin!"

"I have this album and the third chamber. Right now I'm ordering the rest of their albums beacause they are just that good. This gets you feeling groovey and calm-- there are so many different instrumentals and sounds that you'll want to play it at dinner, in bed, cleaning the house, and while partaking in magic mushrooms. Beautiful."
