"Lorez Alexandria is one of the finest jazz singers ever. It's really a mystery to me why she isn't better known. Hers is an elegant jazz voice: sweet and smoky, with perfect pitch and an impressive sense of swing.
A singer of this caliber can sing almost anything and I will dig it; but there are some particularly outstanding cuts on this album. My favorites are "Baltimore Oriole", "The End of a Love Affair", and "That Old Devil Called Love". Lorez gives a unique interpretation to each of these three songs with spectacular results.
For those who haven't heard Lorez, a comparison to Sarah Vaughan or Carmen McCrae may be useful. Bear in mind, however, that Lorez has her own individual style and is worthy of a place in your CD rack, alongside Sarah and Carmen."
