Synopsis
Amazon.com The Chicago trio Loud Lucy had some trouble getting its debut album off the ground; the first version recorded by Seattle's Jack Endino was scrapped as too polished and the band returned to the studio with Brad Wood (Liz Phair) to try again. Breathe was worth the extra effort. The 12 songs are simple, straightforward power-pop tunes, the band rocks like mad, and singer-songwriter Christian Lane is an appealing, unaffected twentysomething. In the smoggy haze of self-pitying alternative whiners, Breathe represents a breath of fresh air. --Jim DeRogatis Similarly Requested CDs

Member CD ReviewsLindsey J. from CHAMPAIGN, IL Reviewed on 4/15/2007... I just love this CD. It brings me back to my teenage years. Not a "so-so" song on it.
CD ReviewsBefore or after their time... Kevin Bishop | 01/20/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "I'm not sure which. I saw Loud Lucy live when they were opening for Alanis Morisette. I believe the year was 1996. They were amazing. I couldn't believe that I enjoyed an opening band intensely more than the headliner. Especially since I had never heard of Loud Lucy before that night. They rocked. Their album rocks. Something wasn't right in the alignment of the stars though, because before they had a chance to become anything, it was over. Maybe it's better that way though? One sucker punch to knock you out, and then they were gone, never a chance to put out a boorish sophmore album that ruins everything you once loved about a great band. These guys are fantastic, buy this album. If you don't like it at first, give it some time. I'm sure you'll find it to pop up in your playlist once a month at least, out of respect." Wow Bryce Hayworth | 09/05/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "I bought this cd used for 1.99 and wow, Christian, Tommy, and Mark were a great solid band that shouldn't have been dropped from Geffen. My favorite songs are Over Me, 1,000 to five, and on the table. My former band even covered Ticking. Thanks guys!"
