"Review by Dan Alcinii:
LoveHateHero are the newest band to be added onto the Ferret Records roster after only signing with the label in the early months of 2005. In that short time, these five California natives headed into the recording studio in Burbank, CA, to record ten tracks, and with that, they released their debut full length, Just Breathe....
Knitting intricate metal influenced guitars with seamlessly intricate melodies, and adding a post hardcore/screamo twist, LoveHateHero do not sound like any band on, not only their home roster, but in the scene in general, and that is by far the best thing about this band. LoveHateHero seem to work on a push and pull type tactic, with brutally honest lyrics, heartfelt and yet gut-wrenching vocals spewing out of vocalist Pierrick Berube, which pushes the musicianship of the band to an even better level, a level that involves dueling guitars that almost seem like they were meant to be in a western gun fight showdown. One of the heavier songs, and the last, "Smart, Witty, Fun, Sexy" is probably the best song on album; double vocals, screaming fills the forefront while a growl fills the background, all the while battling heart-pounding drums and jaw dropping guitars. Insanity.
The one problem the band has had to overcome is the fact that Ferret Records may have rushed the debut from LoveHateHero, not because the album is sub par or to its caliber, because it is very much so, but simply because there has been next to no press, if any at all, for this stellar release. Hopefully, with the sophomore release, Ferret takes their mistakes from the past to get behind and push the band like no other, because they can't disappoint. If you don't already love this band, you will soon."
