Tramp & Soul is a good value

"Lowell Fulson's "Tramp & Soul" is great disc. On this release, Fulson's unique Blues style shines. Like T Bone Walker, Fulson's style incorporates a jazzy R&B smoothness. At times, tones of James Brown style funk resonate. This is classic Blues, from the 1960's. "Soul" was originally released in 1966 and "Tramp" came out the following year. Paying full price for a compact disc that may be venerable but only 40 minutes long is a drawback for the modern listener. Virgin solved this problem by putting two classic albums together on the same CD. Playing 24 songs, this is a good value. "Tramp & Soul" features some of the best music by the man who moved Texas style Blues to the West Coast."
