"At last a multinational company has decided to market a recording from the most extraordinary performer Puerto Rico has produced over the last four decades, Lucecita Benitez. The only way to describe the emotional impact of this performer is to say that she is larger than life when she stands in stage to perform. Lucecita's versatility, emotional power, superb phrasing and expressive voice are evident in this live recording of her concert in Carnegie Hall. The orchestra directed by Cucco Pena provides excellent musical accompaniment to match this extraordinary performer. The only criticism is that the CD does not provide any information or photos from the concert and some of the songs in the concert were not included. This is a minor criticism considering this is a great recording."

"The best Latin Female Singer for the past 4 decades & the REAL QUEEN OF LATIN MUSIC finally gets a multinational record label to release one of her albums. Having recorded and released several albums since the 80's thru her own record label(LOBO RECORDS), the pride of Bayamon, Puerto Rico now will be able to reach new admirers thanks to BMG U.S. LATIN. This vocal powerhouse is one of the few artists capable of sucessfully covering various musical styles/genres. This 2 cd set contains most of her glorious concert at Carnegie Hall and shows how she can go from the still poignant Genesis (written for her by the late Puertorican composer Guillermo Venegas Lloveras) to Puertorican "jibaro" music composed by the late Ramito and the legendary Rafael Hernandez to ballads such as Que tal te va sin mi( by M. Alejandro from Spain) and Como la Marea & Me llevare conmigo( by Alberto Cortez from Argentina) to a Feisty Puertorican Plenas Medley and the Tango Uno(M. Mores) to a stunning and uncredited duet in the romantic classic bolero Estando Contigo(Madrigal)written by Don Felo from P.R. with her best duet partner and a legend in his own right, Chucho Avellanet to her classic closing song Oubou Moin(Corretjer/Brown). The sound of this recording is EXCELLENT! Only Complaints: No liner notes included by the record label, no credits to the fine orchestra conducted by the multitalented Cucco Pena, no photos of the concert in booklet and deleted song (Her never recorded version of Ruben Blades' Patria), here replaced by a new song in English."
Lucecita shines bigger than ever!!

"I was at the Carnegie Hall concert where this recording was made and I screamed my head off then. Now that I listen to the recording I get goose pimples from the electricity and passion that Lucy's voice produced that night. The warm and love-filled duet with Chucho Avellanet in particular reignites sparks from Canta La Juventud days. But her rendition of Verde Luz, Gracias a la Vida, Jurame and Amanecer Borincano will draw you to your stereo's speakers as if hypnotized by the huge Lucecita of a bonfire!"
