"I first heard Luciana Mello on a fantastic DVD set called Um Barzinho Um Violao which I think means something like "a barstool and a guitar" which is all wonderful brazilian acoustic guitar and vocals. Luciana Mello was a huge standout for her captivating voice and sense of rhythm. This album is more "pop", fairly heavily produced, but it doesn't disappoint. Same great voice, rhythm, and tunes that grow on you the more you listen. The fact it's all in Portuguese is not a problem, you can still feel a lot of meaning in the singing. Someday I won't be surprised to see Luciana Mello is a big success in the U.S.!"

"i picked up a lot of wonderful brasilian music during my stay in Salvador da bahia this summer. This selection includes the great gilberto gil, olodum, gal costa, caetono veloso, and more.
Luciana Mello represents a fresh, vibrant class of brasilian artists who are not out to make a dollar. there is a lot of thoughtfulness behind the lyrics, voice, and rhythms.
now i hate to compare on a global level because i want to respect each artist's background and approach. however, amazon is massive as is the virtual world and i want this lady to get support. so, i will say that if you like les nubians (the r&b plus sisters from paris) you love luciana mello. no doubt."
