CD Reviews

Luciano Live!
James Ballard | Baltimore | 02/07/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Have you ever had a CD that plays like a tape..? What I mean is that when you play it you forget that you have the power to skip tracks. This CD is so powerful and uplifting, that once you play it, you'll find yourself calling out of work to catch the end. The recording quality puts you right in the 3rd row of this legendary concert with one of the best performers of our time. Luciano has always been a great artist to introduce people to reggae music with, and I'm convinced that this CD will make anyone a fan."
The Messenger in Venezuela
aparnther | Brooklyn, NY USA | 10/31/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Luciano (the messenger) is charismatic live. This CD showcases his spiritual, conscious, and all inclusive lyrics with an amazing back-up band "Firehouse Crew", his backup singers the "Daffodils" all lead by Jamaica's most talented saxophonist and Maestro "Dean Frasier". He begins by blessing the Crowd with a verse from the gospel of Matthew, and with a glorius chant of JAH the music begins. The chemistry between the band and Luciano creates soothing vibes of pulsing reggae. All his hits are here, It's me again Jah, He is my Friend, What we need is love, Overhills. Luciano even speaks a little spanish to the crowd, and their cheers grow louder. An excellent CD showing the range of his music. A must for a Luciano Fan and a perfect introduction for someone new to his music."
