Synopsis

Album Description
Following in the tradition of the Australian trio?s highly popular "Happy Secret" album in 1999, "Where Were We?" is an assortment of non-album tracks from singles and various artist compilations over the past three years. Fourteen tracks in total, the album features six songs previously unreleased in the US?including a brand new composition with indie legend Pam Berry on backing vocals?alongside favorites like "T-Shirt Weather", "Even Stevens" and "Friendless Summer." Recorded in Australia, England and the US, this superb collection documents the strong songwriting and memorable melodies that have helped secure the Lucksmiths? renown as one of today?s most popular indie bands. After last year?s tremendous eight-month world tour promoting the most recent album "Why That Doesn?t Surprise Me," the Lucksmiths are set for success on the next level

Where Were We ? ... In Music Heaven !!!

"This album is an assortment of recordings from 1999 - 2001, according to the CD sleeve. The guitar, bass, drums & occassionally the vocals on this album most closely resemble The Smiths "Hatful of Hollow" album. I would describe the Lucksmith's sound as a cross between The Smiths and The Trash Can Sinatras (or The Smiths on Prozac). I heard this album for the first time and thought it was pretty good. I thought that there were even a few great songs on it. After several listens, I realized that every single song was brilliant !!!
I own over a thousand CD's and have to say that the Lucksmiths are my absolute favorite band of the moment. I read on the internet somewhere that the Lucksmiths were possibly "the most likeable band on the planet". I would wholeheartedly agree with that comment. The songs on this album are completely addictive. There are fourteen songs in all. If I had to name my four favorite songs, they would be: The Cassingle Revival, T-Shirt Weather, Southernmost and Goodness Gracious. This band is from Australia and has been around for at least ten years. However, they're not that well known in the United States. Please show your support by ordering every Lucksmith's album you can get your hands on. Amazon.com has a few albums available, but there are many, many more out there."

"Not only do The Lucksmiths have some of the best songs, they also are some of the best guys around. T-Shirt Weather become very popular, very quickly, gaining them a lot of air time. It's such a fun, summer song. For some reason the band has very quotable lyrics that get stuck in your head. Stand out tracks: Myopic Friends, I Prefer the 20th Century and Tomorrow vs Yesterday. Even if you can't be bothered buying the album you should at least download those tracks. Very nice, sweet and will put you in a great mood for the rest of the day."
