Amazon.com Too much might never be enough for fans of Latin pop superstar Luis Miguel's swooning balladry. For discerning listeners, however, Amarte Es Un Placer is the same old song and dance. The album balances swooning ballads with up-tempo numbers, much like Miguel's previous Nada Es Igual and Aries. Admittedly, Miguel displays a wonderfully expressive voice, particularly on "Tu Mirada," "Soy Yo," and "O Tú o Ninguna," but other problems surface. Up-tempo numbers such as "Sol, Arena y Mar," "Quiero," and "Dímelo en un Beso" feature tepid arrangements akin to background music for a Miami Vice episode, and Miguel doesn't inject any real rhythm into the songs. The sole exception is "Te Propongo Esta Noche," which breaks into a pulsing club beat. Miguel would be wise to follow that same path next time around. --Joey Guerra Similarly Requested CDs

Amarte Es Un Placer esta lleno de energia y romanticismo que ha llevado a Luis Miguel ser el Mejor Artista Latino de la decada. Las canciones "PoP" del album te llevan a recordar cuando tenias 5-15 años, cuando salieron caciones como "Cuando Calienta el Sol" y "Sera Que No Me Amas". Las canciones romanticas del cd te llevan a recordar otra vez las melodias e instrumentacion del disco Segundo Romances. La verdad que es una cd con buena calidad. Tenemos que aceptar que LuisMi no es ignorante. Por lo menos sabe lo que esta pasando a fuera de su estilo como lo señala en los ultimos minutos de la casion "Te Propongo Esta Noche", cuando la cacion toma un curso de su pop clasico a el House. Tambiem tenemos que aceptar que LuisMi nunca va a cambiar su estilo y su idioma de cantar. Luis Miguel no se preocupa en lo que esta pasando con artistas como Marc A, Enrique I, y Ricky M. La calidad en que LuisMi hace sus discos es incomparable; y no le importa si vende menos o mas. El no se preocupa por lo comercial como lo estan haciendo, Ricky y Enrique."
