Sauce Piquante-Spicy Zydeco Blues From A Louisiana Legend

"If the late Clifton Chenier was truly the "King of Zydeco Music," then Lynn August must be the "Duke." This Legend of Louisiana Zydeco Blues truly delivers the goods on this 1993 release. Lynn's "Rockin Accordion" will lift you out of your chair. His cover of the 50's classic "Slipin'and Slidin'" will get you rockin. But it does'nt stop here. Sauce Piquante features traditional french accopella sounds in the jure' fashion (a sort of Louisiana street corner doo-wop). But the heart of Lynn's Sauce Piquante is his delivery of the blues. Track after track of his gutsy accordion sounds coupled with one of the clearest voices in Zydeco music today results in a compilation of some of the best Zydeco and Blues music on record. Compared to such greats as Ray Charles and Fats Domino, Lynn August is in a class by himself. What his eyes can't see, his fingers and voice make up for. For true Zydeco enthusiasts, Lynn August is a rare find. His delivery and style is truly at the heart of Zydeco Blues music today.
