CD Reviews

Any N.W.A fan shouldn't be without it
03/10/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"In my opinion, MC Ren was the star of N.W.A., and this Cd shows a different side of him. The music on here is much slower than N.W.A., but his lyrical skills haven't faded a bit. I am not even that much of a hip hop fan, and this is one of the few releases that I really enjoy."
Da Villain is Back

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Back one more time for one part of the world's most dangerous crew, N.W.A. MC Ren delivers what he is known for, simple lyrics that are vulgar (to say the least), and that's what made him famous in the late 80's, so why switch? Straight gangsta in his lyrics through th ewhole album. Lyrically he is average but he tells good tales and he's vulgar. Beats are pretty good on the album and are handled by 8 different producers (most notably LT Hutton & Ant Banks). Has 4 of the 12 songs with guests. No classics but no weak tracks, one can listen from track 1 to 12 without skipping a song. A must have album for his fans.

Not the greatest rap album... but majorly under-rated
G$ | 11/24/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"MC Ren, along with Ice Cube, and Warren G, have the best voices and flows in the world of hip-hop. This album is well produced with a good amount of great songs. "Ruthless For Life," "Comin' After You," and "CPT All Day," are the best songs on this CD, but on whole it's great. Although this CD isn't a five star album, (In my oppinion) Ren's Greatest Hits CD will be a keeper 4 sho!"
